Who we are
This website is run by volunteers for the community of Boldron, a small village in Teesdale, County Durham. We have no commercial interest and do not sell anything through this site (the calendar is sold at cost to fund village projects).
What data we collect
We do not collect any personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers through this website.
The only data collected is anonymous usage analytics (see below).
Cookies & Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site — for example, which pages are most popular and how visitors find us. This helps us improve the site for the community.
Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous information such as:
- Pages visited and time spent
- How you arrived at the site (search engine, direct link, etc.)
- General location (country/region level, not precise)
- Device type and browser
This data is aggregated and anonymous — we cannot identify individual visitors. No personal data is shared with third parties.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Third-party services
Some pages embed content from third-party services:
- Google Fonts — for typography (Inter and Merriweather typefaces)
- Open-Meteo — for the weather widget on the homepage
- Durham County Council maps — embedded on the map page
These services may set their own cookies. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.
Your rights
Since we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to request, amend, or delete. If you have any concerns, please contact us through the village community.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. Any changes will be posted here.
